Focus of the Journal: The central criterion for publication in JNR is novelty of contribution. Manuscripts are selected based on the clarity and significance of what they add to existing knowledge.  Novel contributions may include, but are not limited to:

  • New theoretical or conceptual frameworks
  • Methodological innovations or refinements
  • Critical synthesis or reinterpretation of existing literature
  • Application of established theories to under-researched contexts
  • Interdisciplinary approaches addressing social, educational, behavioural, or policy-related issues

Scope of the Journal: The journal welcomes submissions from the broad domain of education, humanities, and social sciences, including:

  • Sociology
  • Psychology and Behavioural Sciences
  • Public Policy and Governance
  • Development Studies
  • Technology and Society (including AI-related social research)
  • Gender Studies, Equity, and Social Justice
  • Humanities and Languages
  • Interdisciplinary Research

Submissions from adjacent disciplines are considered when their primary contribution addresses social science questions.

Article Selection Criteria: Manuscripts will be considered for publication when they demonstrate:

  1. Explicit Novelty: The manuscript clearly states what is new and why it is important.
  2. Scholarly Grounding: Arguments are anchored in relevant theories, concepts, or academic debates.
  3. Methodological Soundness: Research design, data sources, and analytical procedures are coherent, justified, and transparent.
  4. Analytical Depth: The manuscript moves beyond description to explanation, interpretation, or critical analysis.
  5. Relevance and Significance: The study contributes meaningfully to social science research, theory, policy, or practice.

Manuscripts Unlikely to Be Considered

  • Purely descriptive studies without analytical or theoretical contribution
  • Opinion pieces lacking scholarly evidence
  • Routine replications without clear justification or added value
  • Weakly designed studies with unclear objectives

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

  • Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • Maximum length for research articles: 7000 words (inclusive of tables, figures, and references).
  • Each manuscript should include:
    • Title
    • Structured Abstract (maximum 250 words)
    • 4–5 Keywords
    • Clearly organised main text
    • References formatted according to APA 7th Edition
  • Authors must submit two separate files: one is an Anonymous Manuscript (without author identifiers), and the other is a Title Page (author names, affiliations, ORCID, and correspondence details)

Peer Review Process: All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. Editorial decisions are based on novelty, scholarly quality, methodological rigor, relevance to scope, and contribution to knowledge.

Publication Ethics: The journal adheres to the standards of publication ethics. Plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication, and unethical authorship practices are strictly prohibited. Manuscripts may be screened using Turnitin plagiarism detection software.

Declaration of generative AI in scientific writing: Authors must declare the use of generative AI in the manuscript preparation process upon submission of the paper if used.

APC: There are no Article Processing Charges for the first issue. Articles will be published at no cost if accepted for the first issue.
